Long point eco Adventures. : Today for the first time i had the Opportunity to both Visit and experience the Long Point Eco Adventures. That is situated here in Norfolk county on the shores of lake Erie and Long point bay. Upon arrival we were asked to sign some Forms...The reception staff were very curtious. After a short wait we were taking down stairs by one of our Guides where we went over a few things and were shown how to harness up. Once everyone was all geared up and ready to go we were then lead out to an Erea where we were all given a practice run to make sure we were Capable...lol.....Our Group passed! Phew!!.....We then procceded on with our zip lining and tree canopy tour.....All i am going to say is the Guides really do do an awesome job. Very thorough, pleasant and fun to be around. I strongly suggest if you have not yet checked out Long Poinnts Eco Adventures then be sure to put them on your to do list. I for one will be back. The Badlands Ontario Canada. : The badlands of Ontario. Looking distinctly like Martian topography, the Cheltenam Badlands are a bizarre geographical spectacle that lie hidden in the Caledon Hills. "Badlands" is a geological term for an area of soft rock devoid of vegetation and soil cover that has become molded over time into softly undulating hills and gullies. The reddish hue of the Queenston Shale is caused by iron oxide, while narrow greenish bands show where circulating groundwater has transformed the rock from red to green iron oxide. This distinctive geological phenomena is extremely rare in Ontario, and the Cheltenham Badlands are one of the best examples in the province.
